Background of the President

Born in 1951 in Muğla, H. İbrahim GÖKÇÜOĞLU completed his primary and secondary education in Muğla, his high school education in İzmir Mithatpaşa Industrial Vocational High School in 1968, and his university education in Ege University Engineering Faculty Mechanical Engineering Department in 1973.  He is married and has two children.

Between 1973 and 1975, he worked as an Operating Engineer at İzmir METAŞ Metallurgical Plant and during the same period, he worked as a part-time assistant at Ege University Faculty of Engineering.

In 1975, he co-founded GÖKÇÜOĞLU MAKİNA A.Ş., which designs and manufactures machinery, and he is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

GÖKÇÜOĞLU, who is the Chairman of the Assembly of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry for the 2022-2026 period, has been a member of the Assembly of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry since 2005 and served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for three consecutive terms between 2009-2022.

His main hobbies are taking active roles in various non-governmental organizations and associations, conducting professional research, serving education in all kinds, reading books and traveling.
